Active Listening: Are You Really Listening?

Active listening is not just passive listening; It is paying genuine attention to what others say. This practice strengthens empathy and respect. Try to listen with an open mind and without interruptions.

Establish a Family Communication Schedule:

Have you ever felt frustrated by the lack of time to talk as a family? Establishing a regular schedule for communication can help. Allocate specific times to talk about your days or discuss important issues. This can strengthen family ties and ensure that no one is left out.

Constructive Conflict Resolution:

Disagreements are normal in any family, but how we handle them is key. Follow constructive conflict resolution techniques, such as "fair confrontation" and listening to all perspectives before reaching a solution.

Family Values at the Center of the Conversation:

Family values are a pillar in the formation of solid ties. Openly discussing the values that are important to your family and how they apply in everyday life can be a powerful booster of family unity.

Balance Digital Communication:

In the age of technology, it is essential to balance the use of electronic devices in the family. I provide guidelines for balanced use in the article.

  1. In my family communication was not that good, but one day we were able to sit down and talk about it, so everyone was in their own world, and no one knew how each other felt. We implemented communicating more often by text message, at dinner time, we always said our annoyances, that could improve communication. One of the most complicated challenges is being able to understand my dad because he doesn't understand some things, but we have still reached an agreement to be able to talk to him and have him support us in what we need most. I love my family and I know they are wonderful people. Communication is the key and I know that it can improve any family that has big differences.
